The XC-555 is designed so that a video output signal can be obtained by only providing a power supply of 12 V DC. Its ultra-compact, one-piece design eliminates the need for a bulky CCU, allowing the XC-555 camera to be easily installed in space-restricted areas. The XC-555 is a direct replacement for the XC-999 and XC-777A cameras (1/2 vs. 1/3 inch optics).

  • 1/2 type IT CCD with complementary mosaic filter
  • Ultra-compact and lightweight: 22 x 22 x 75mm, 60 g
  • One piece camera – no bulky CCU
  • Compact NF lens and lens mount
  • RS-232 Interface to control camera functions

The sony xc series of industrial video cameras are designed with ease of use in mind and performance. It’s all metal chassis, compact, light weight construction can take high vibration and prolonged thermal intervals without deterioration of the cameras video output. Working parameters such as shutter speed and trigger states can be assigned externally on the back control panel of the camera housing. A solitary 12pin Hirose auxiliary connector provides connectivity to other signals like as vertical or horizontal sync signals, external trigger inputs, video outputs, and based on the camera model, other control I/O.

Depending on the model, the CCD imaging array has a 1/4-inch, 1/3-inch, 1/2-in, or 3/4-in form , and might use an interline transfer or frame transfer system, with an interlaced or progressive mode for image read out. The techniques create sharp image detail with reduced noise, whether or not monochrome or color formats.

Rates up to 200 frames per second or feasible in partial scan state, but some models can attain an entire frame rate of 120 cycles per sec. These qualities help make the Sony XC camera collection ideally matched for computer vision applications such as robotic select and place, paper web inspection, quality control on a production line, research investigation, or straight forward image observation such as telescopic and microscopy applications.

The Sony XC collection includes a sub model styles such as the XC-ST and XC-ES collection for monochrome interlaced video , the XC-HR collection for very high speed progressive scan imaging requirements, and the XC-EI collection for near infrared applications. The XC-56 stands apart from other the sub models having its own unique features for general purpose vision technology uses. Its especially light weight, simple operation and economy make it a preferred in the marketplace.

Together the Sony XC camera collection delivers the right camera for virtually any industrial imaging job. Industrial Camera Sales can assist you select the right design for your mill floor or factory wide installation.
